Shop SupervisorShuttle Bus Leasing, a D/T Carson Enterprises, Inc. company is a bus leasing company offering its customers a range of customized leasing options. With over 1,000 buses in inventory, we can provide customers passenger buses that can transport anywhere from 15 to 120 passengers. Join SBL as a Shop Supervisor.$60,000-$70,000/year based on experience and qualificationsWorkplace flexibility, full-time schedule, consistent and year-round workCareer advancement opportunitiesCompany offers medical benefits and retirement plan optionsWe are 2nd chance employersReports to: Operations Manager Department: ProductionEssential Responsibilities The Shop Supervisor, under the direction of the Operations Manager, oversees the efficient and safe operation of their assigned crew by directing, controlling and coordinating activities required to repair or overhaul busses, trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles in a manner to meet our customer deadlines. Specific ResponsibilitiesSupervises the activities of the Maintenance staff with respect to production, volume, cost, quality, and meeting scheduled roll outsStimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of Maintenance staffConfers with the Manager to establish working schedules for all departments connected with MaintenanceMaintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practicesRecommends the hiring and releasing of staff as required to maintain scheduled repairs and roll outsPrepares all shift schedules for Maintenance staffAssures that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient operationSchedules overtime, as requiredArranges to have appropriate records prepared and maintainedMaintains good employee relations, takes proper disciplinary measures when required, and assists in handling employee grievancesKeeps records of departmental activities, as requiredAssures efficient and economical utilization materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the departmentEstablishes accountability and goals used for performance evaluationSafety ResponsibilitiesConduct Orientation and Training of EmployeesEnforce Safe Work PracticesCorrect Unsafe ConditionsPrevent Lingering Unsafe or Unhealthful Workplace Conditions or HazardsInvestigate Workplace AccidentsPromote Quick Return to WorkDemonstrate Safety LeadershipRequired QualificationsMinimum 5 years diesel maintenance experience on buses, transit, or coach busesMinimum 3-5 years supervisory experienceExtensive, hands-on knowledge of bus or heavy-duty systems (HVAC, Electrical, Engine, Suspensions etc.)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust have computer skillsAbility to assess personnel requirements and evaluate subordinate performanceAbility to train, guide, and direct a crewASE certifications are a plusValid driver's license, Class A and/or Class B with Passenger EndorsementMust have own toolsMust be able to:Lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds of dead weightClimb up and down a ladderStoop, kneel, and or crawlAdditional employee benefits After your introductory period is completed all full-time employees of D/T Carson Enterprises Inc. will be offered excellent benefits such as:MedicalDental / VisionLong and Short DisabilityLife Insurance401K Benefits w a company matchTuition ReimbursementESOPEEO We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
