Senior Manager, DTC and Social Commerce
Location: Hybrid -3 days in office in Morris County, NJ
Requires hands on experience managing a Shopify DTC ecommerce site ideally for a CPG company
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced digital commerce leader to oversee and grow its direct-to-consumer and emerging social commerce business. This individual will be responsible for driving online revenue, improving the customer purchase journey, and partnering across marketing, creative, brand, sales, and operations to deliver an exceptional digital shopping experience.
The ideal candidate combines commercial thinking with strong analytical skills and enjoys optimizing every stage of the customer lifecycle—from acquisition through retention. This role offers the opportunity to shape strategy while remaining closely involved in execution.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Commerce Leadership
Own the performance of the company's direct-to-consumer and social commerce channels.
Develop revenue forecasts, monitor business performance, and identify opportunities to improve key commercial metrics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align merchandising, promotional calendars, customer experience, and business priorities.
Translate data into actionable recommendations that accelerate online growth.
DTC Website & Online Merchandising
Manage the ongoing optimization of the ecommerce experience across product pages, category pages, shopping cart, and checkout.
Execute merchandising strategies including promotional campaigns, seasonal launches, bundled offers, and product placement.
Continuously improve site usability, navigation, personalization, and overall customer experience.
Conversion Optimization
Develop a structured testing roadmap to improve conversion across landing pages, product content, offers, messaging, and purchase flows.
Analyze customer behavior to identify friction points and opportunities for optimization.
Partner with marketing and creative teams to ensure cohesive messaging throughout the consumer journey.
Customer Lifecycle & Retention
Lead CRM initiatives across email and SMS marketing.
Build audience segmentation strategies and automated lifecycle programs designed to increase repeat purchases, customer retention, and lifetime value.
Work with creative partners to deliver compelling, high-performing customer communications.
Social Commerce
Expand and optimize social commerce initiatives across leading marketplace and social shopping platforms.
Oversee product merchandising, promotional planning, inventory visibility, and operational execution within social storefronts.
Collaborate with influencer, content, and social marketing teams to support creator-driven commerce initiatives.
Evaluate channel performance and recommend improvements based on sales trends and customer behavior.
Analytics & Business Insights
Develop regular reporting on ecommerce performance, including revenue, conversion, customer acquisition, average order value, retention, customer lifetime value, and channel contribution.
Identify trends and provide strategic recommendations to improve traffic quality, merchandising effectiveness, and overall digital performance.
Present insights and business updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
Approximately 6–10 years of experience in ecommerce, digital commerce, growth marketing, or online merchandising.
Demonstrated success managing direct-to-consumer businesses with accountability for revenue growth and commercial performance.
Experience working with modern ecommerce platforms such as Shopify or similar systems.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, customer acquisition, online merchandising, and website optimization.
Experience supporting or managing social commerce initiatives and creator-driven selling programs.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate performance data into business decisions.
Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Target Base Salary $125- 175k base + 20% bonus potential
