Simulation & Skills Lab AssistantThe Simulation & Skills Lab Assistant supports the daily operations of the Pacific College's nursing simulation and skills laboratories. This role is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and organizing lab environments, equipment, and supplies to ensure high-quality, realistic learning experiences for students. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and technologically proficient, with the ability to support simulation-based education in a fast-paced academic setting.Key ResponsibilitiesSimulation & Skills Lab SetupPrepare, set up, and break down simulation scenarios and skills lab sessions according to faculty specificationsArrange Manikins, task trainers, medical equipment, and supplies to accurately reflect clinical environmentsReset labs between sessions to ensure readiness and efficiencyEquipment & Technology SupportDemonstrate technical proficiency in creating and modifying simulated medications, IV fluids, and clinical equipment setupsTroubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate repairs as neededInventory & Supply ManagementMaintain accurate inventory of lab supplies, equipment, and consumablesOrganize storage areas to ensure accessibility, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standardsMonitor usage levels and proactively order supplies to maintain optimal stock levelsReceive, label, and stock incoming inventoryLab Maintenance & OrganizationEnsure labs are clean, organized, and compliant with infection control and safety protocolsPerform routine equipment checks and preventive maintenanceAssist with periodic audits of equipment and suppliesCollaboration & SupportAssist with special projects, lab improvements, and accreditation preparation as neededProvide general support during simulation/skills lab activities when requiredOccasional travel to Pacific College affiliate campusesSome evening and weekend hours may be requiredQualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalentStrong organizational and time management skillsBasic technical proficiency with computers and audiovisual equipmentAbility to lift, move, and set up equipment (up to 30–90 lbs)Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsPreferred:Experience in healthcare, education, simulation labs, or related environmentsFamiliarity with medical terminology, equipment, or clinical proceduresExperience with inventory management systemsKey CompetenciesDetail-oriented and highly organizedTechnically savvy and adaptable to new systemsProactive problem-solverStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesWork EnvironmentPrimarily based in a simulation and skills lab settingRequires standing, walking, bending, and lifting equipmentMay require flexible hours based on lab schedules
