Site Manager – Southern Resin, Inc.

Position Summary

The Site Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, safety, operational performance, and financial success of Southern Resin, Inc.'s manufacturing facility. This position provides strategic and day‑to‑day leadership for all plant operations, including production of polymer and resin products, maintenance, quality, environmental compliance, warehousing, inventory, shipping, and employee development.

The Site Manager ensures safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This individual serves as the senior leader at the facility and works closely with executive leadership to achieve company objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Plant Management

Provide overall leadership for all manufacturing operations.

Develop and execute strategic initiatives that support company goals.

Lead by example while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Establish performance expectations for all plant departments.

Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate company objectives.

Develop succession plans and cross‑training initiatives.

Foster employee engagement and professional development.

Manufacturing Operations

Oversee all production activities involving:

Polymer manufacturing

Resin manufacturing

Batch processing

Mixing operations

Packaging operations

Material handling

Warehouse operations

Shipping and receiving

Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.

Monitor:

Production output

Equipment utilization

Downtime

Labor efficiency

Yield

Waste reduction

Capacity planning

Safety & Environmental Compliance

Provide leadership for:

OSHA compliance

EPA compliance

Environmental permitting

Hazardous waste management

Stormwater programs

Air quality compliance

Process safety

Chemical handling

Emergency response planning

Incident investigations

Safety training

Maintain a culture where safety is the highest priority.

Ensure all employees follow company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

Quality Management

Partner with Quality Assurance to:

Maintain product quality standards.

Ensure adherence to manufacturing specifications.

Support ISO Quality Management Systems.

Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Monitor customer complaints and drive continuous improvement.

Maintain accurate production documentation.

Maintenance & Reliability

Provide leadership for preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Ensure:

Equipment reliability

Preventive maintenance scheduling

Capital equipment planning

Facility maintenance

Utility management

Contractor oversight

Work closely with Maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.

Financial Management

Develop and manage plant operating budgets.

Monitor:

Labor costs

Manufacturing costs

Inventory levels

Scrap

Overtime

Capital expenditures

Productivity metrics

Identify opportunities to reduce costs while improving operational performance.

Supply Chain Coordination

Collaborate with:

Procurement

Customer Service

Logistics

Warehouse

Production Planning

Sales to ensure customer requirements are met.

Monitor inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.

Human Resources

Partner with Human Resources regarding:

Hiring

Performance management

Employee relations

Corrective actions

Training

Workforce planning

Compensation recommendations

Succession planning

Ensure staffing levels appropriately support production demands.

Continuous Improvement

Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead projects focused on:

Waste reduction

Process optimization

Equipment efficiency

Labor productivity

Inventory accuracy

Cost savings

Standardization

Automation

Promote employee involvement in continuous improvement activities.

Customer Focus

Support Sales and Customer Service by ensuring customer commitments are met.

Participate in:

Customer visits

Plant tours

Customer audits

Technical discussions

Production planning meetings

Respond appropriately to customer concerns involving manufacturing operations.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with:

Company policies

OSHA regulations

EPA regulations

DOT requirements (as applicable)

ISO standards

Environmental permits

Customer specifications

Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly or indirectly manages:

Production Supervisors

Production Leads

Warehouse/Shipping personnel

Inventory personnel

Requirements

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in:

Chemical Engineering

Industrial Engineering

Manufacturing Management

Operations Management

Business Administration

Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.

Experience

8–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.

Minimum of 5 years managing a chemical, polymer, resin, or industrial manufacturing facility.

Experience leading multiple departments.

Budget and financial management experience.

Experience with ISO Quality Systems.

Experience managing environmental and safety compliance.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing facility producing emulsion polymers and resin products.

Frequent exposure to production, warehouse, and maintenance environments.

Occasional travel for customer meetings, supplier visits, or training.

Must be available outside normal business hours to respond to operational or emergency situations.
