Job description
Site RegistrarUnder the direct supervision of the principal, the Site Registrar will provide a wide variety of confidential administrative and secretarial support to the principal. The High School Registrar supports the operations of the school with a primary focus on student enrollment, preparation of transcripts, and maintenance of student files.Major Responsibilities and DutiesFollows policies and procedures that ensure the school operates within legal compliance and school guidelinesMaintains confidential student information and ensures security of recordsInputs data, maintains cume files for all students.Creates reports with graphs from data in the student systemCreates spreadsheets and compiles dataCommunicates with and assists parents, teachers, support staff and school leadership in line with the school's core valuesHandles purchase orders and school depositsSecures workers and referees for middle school athletic eventsAssists with completing state reporting under the direction of the middle school principalPerforms all necessary tasks involving new student enrollment and withdrawalKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to describe problems and work orally or in writing to the supervisor as neededAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of workAbility to carry out instructions, with excellence, furnished in written or oral formAbility to perform general arithmetic computationsAbility to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to problem-solve job-related issuesAbility to work with a diverse group of individuals: students and adultsAbility to complete position responsibilities accurately according to standardized proceduresAbility to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others, financial information, etcOrganizational, scheduling, and time management skillsKnowledge of office management proceduresKnowledge of state and federal laws relating to public education and public information.Ability to maintain confidentiality in all settings at and away from office hoursParticipate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assignedFollow district safety protocols and emergency proceduresMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; other specialized and adaptive equipment used by studentsPosture: Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Frequent walking and reachingLifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning or students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting non-ambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive and other classroom equipmentEnvironment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases)Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressThis document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
