Software and Services

Overview

People at Apple don’t just build products—they craft the kind of experience that has revolutionized entire industries. The diverse collection of our people and their ideas inspire innovation in everything we do. Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it.

The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team builds and provides systems and infrastructure that power Apple’s services (such as iCloud, iTunes, Siri, and Maps). We are the foundation on which Apple’s software developers build the products that our customers love. Our services must scale globally, stay highly available, and “just work.”

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and triage all aspects of production and non‑production environments.

Design, build, and implement innovative solutions for current and future issues.

Prepare alert handling procedures, runbooks, and collaborate with off‑shore SRE teams.

Automate deployment and orchestration of services into the cloud environment and other routine processes.

Actively participate in capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster‑recovery exercises.

Interact with and support partner teams, including engineering, QA, and program management.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external third‑party vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, an engineering‑related field, or equivalent experience (Advanced Degree preferred).

5+ years in a Site Reliability Engineering or infrastructure‑focused role.

Expertise and in‑depth professional experience with cloud operations, focusing on infrastructure‑as‑a‑service (compute, storage, and network virtualization).

Highly proficient in Golang and Java.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating large‑scale, multi‑tenant infrastructure as a managed service.

Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Ability to troubleshoot issues across the entire infrastructure stack.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee‑stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted‑stock‑unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

You will receive benefits including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and educational reimbursement for certain advancing‑career education (including tuition). This role might also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance.

Equal Opportunity & EEO Statement

We seek to promote equal opportunity for all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, Veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics. Apple is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to applicants with physical and mental disabilities. Apple will consider for employment all qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law. In certain jurisdictions, Apple complies with local fair‑chance ordinances and other regulatory requirements.

Apple is a drug‑free workplace and promotes a drug‑free workplace policy.
