Job description
Medical SpecialistThis is a non-supervisory position that will provide appropriate CME hours and on-mountain medical training. This position is responsible for maintaining National and Utah EMT records for ski patrol. The Medical Specialist reports directly to the Director of Patrol, Ski Patrol Manager, and Ski Patrol Supervisor. This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Solitude Ski Patrol Union.Key requirements:Must be employed as a Solitude Mountain PatrollerThe ability to demonstrate expert medical and first aid skillsThe ability to conduct medical/injury related rescuesThe ability to teach and train patrollers in EMT level skillsBLS CPR InstructorUT State Certified EMT trainerAbility to attain NREMT Training Officer credentialSki Patrol Level 1 or aboveDuties:Coordinate and oversee first aid and EMT training with patrol management and other specialist rolesProperly document all medical trainingBLS CPR Trainer for Patrol StaffAbility to identify trends along with patrol leadership for patroller remedial trainingTrain patrol in incident documentationPrepare training updates and training in line with state and local EMS protocolsCoordinate training with patrol management and other specialist roles to create a seasonal training calendarMaintain an inventory of all medical and first aid equipmentAble to order needed medical supplies in line with patrol budgetResearch and recommend supplies in line with industry best practicesThe ability and skills to properly repair medical equipment such as jiffy splints, flying arm splints, etc.Properly mark Solitude equipment and ensure supplies are returned from hospital ERsJob description is not inclusive of all responsibilities and may be modified as deemed necessary by operational needs.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT Solitude Mountain Resort is an equal opportunity employer.
