Job description
Full-time Skilled LaborerThe Department of Public Works in the Borough of Leonia seeks a Full-time Skilled Laborer. The ideal candidate will work under the direct supervision of the DPW Superintendent, Director, and Crew Chief to perform assignments. Knowledge and operation of equipment in the following areas are desired: building maintenance, sports field prep and maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, road maintenance, and experience operating heavy equipment. A high school diploma/GED and a valid NJ Driver's License and Commercial Driver's License Class B (CDL-B) are a must. Additional licenses and experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sewer, and mechanical vehicle maintenance are a plus. Must be available for emergency callouts and standby shifts. Candidates need to be able to work independently and in a team environment. Starting salary $51,123 based on experience. This position falls within the RWDSU LOCAL 108 bargaining unit and, therefore, will require that union dues be paid by the employee. The union contract is available for review.
