Hydrant TechnicianInspect Sarasota County sewer pipes by operating a remote-controlled camera through our pipes. You'll beat the Florida heat in this position, as our field offices have air conditioning!Set all the meters on new construction sites within Sarasota County! This position varies throughout multiple locations, so every day is a new adventure. You'll install meters in whole communities, condominium complexes, and even by our premier beaches!Be crucial in the safety of our citizens and the operations of our EMS teams by maintaining and repairing all the county fire hydrants.This position is perfect if you like to get down and dirty. You'll be the emergency responders for mainline breaks. In this role, you'll repair anything from one-inch pipelines to 42-inch pipelines. This position is our most hands on and provides many opportunities to learn!Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. On-Call Required.About YouWe realize your time is valuable so please carefully review the required minimum qualifications for the position:Trainee:A High School Diploma or its equivalent.Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License at the time of appointment.Technician:Must meet the minimum qualifications of the Trainee to be considered for the Technician position.Two years of experience in the operations, maintenance, repair, installation, and construction of the potable and reclaimed water distribution, wastewater; gravity, vacuum, and pressurized sewer collection systems or related.A State of Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "A" with Tanker "N" endorsement or the ability to obtain within six months from the date of hire.Physical Demands:Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.Pay:Trainee - $15.24Technician - $16.93 (Step 1) - $18.50 (Step 4)This Posting is currently Open Until Filled
