Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00 $25.00 / hour (Based on experience)

Location: Franklin Park, IL (Climate-controlled manufacturing facility)
Schedule: 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM 7:00 AM | Steady, reliable overnight hours

A stable, medium-sized manufacturing company with a tight-knit team of 75 employees in Franklin Park, IL is urgently hiring a Slitter / Rewinder Machine Operator. This role is responsible for complete setups, operations, and basic troubleshooting of industrial slitting and rewinding machinery. Key Responsibilities
* Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor industrial slitting and rewinding machinery to precise job specifications. Load raw plastic materials onto machines, adjust settings, and calibrate equipment for optimal performance.
* Quality Inspection: Utilize a ruler or tape measure to verify material dimensions. Conduct regular in-process visual testing to check for defect compliance under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
* Documentation & Data Entry: Accurately complete all production logs, material run reports, and quality paperwork in a timely manner.
* Basic Troubleshooting: Diagnose minor equipment malfunctions and assist with routine preventative maintenance to minimize machinery downtime.
* Material Handling & Packaging: Palletize finished materials, pack products safely, apply accurate labels, and perform general labor support to keep the production zone flowing smoothly.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Experience: 1 to 2 years of dedicated experience operating slitting or rewinding machinery in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Technical Skills: Strong ability to perform precise machine setups, navigate basic mechanical troubleshooting, and perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
* Physical Aptitude: Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly throughout your shift and stand for extended periods.
* Communication: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to follow strict work instructions and safety procedures.
* Attire Compliance: Must be comfortable working around plastic materials (which have a noticeable production odor) while wearing standard safety gear including steel-toe boots, hair nets, and safety glasses.
Preferred Qualifications (Plus, Not Required)
* Prior hands-on experience operating specific slitting and rewinding brands such as Rotoflex, Stamford, or Dusenbery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, IL. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
