Slitter OperatorPrintpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill one (1) position for Slitter Operator in our Metallizing Plant located in Villa Rica, GA. This position will report to the Digital Plant Supervisor.Pay Range: $22.53-$33.79Work Schedule: 3/2 Schedule Night Shift *Must be able to work overtime as neededMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredMust be 18 years of age or olderPrevious machinery or equipment operation experience preferredAbility to accurately read and use a tape measureSelf-directed with the ability to successfully multitaskAbility to follow instructions and directionStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills neededAbility to prioritize tasks and adjust quickly to changing needsMust be proactive, attentive, and safety-mindedAbility to work a flexible schedule, including nights, overtime, and weekends as neededAbility to learn and perform other roles within the Metallizing and Digital PlantAbility to obtain a forklift license and operate a forkliftMust be able to successfully pass a drug screen, physical, and background checkKey Responsibilities:Operate the machine to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production.Follow all safety requirements and maintain a safe work environmentMeet established quality, waste, and production standards and goalsMeet or exceed internal and external customer expectationsMaintain the highest quality standards throughout operationsCommunicate verbally and/or in writing with other departments to resolve mechanical issues, report defective material, coordinate job preparations and changeovers, and share daily shift informationAccurately and promptly report production information in Prism, including waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, and related dataMaintain personal safety and the safety of team members assisting with machine operationsPerform operator duties, including but not limited to the following:Prepare master rolls for slittingLoad rolls into the machine and prepare them for splicingProperly segregate and label all materials, as appropriate, including work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold materialsAssist with removing rolls from rewind, as neededRemove and weigh startup rolls and materials at the beginning of each jobComplete daily housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean and organized during setup, production runs, and end-of-shift activitiesRemove and weigh all waste materialsSeparate trash waste from recyclable materialsProperly store all unused equipmentPerform and support other functions within the Metallizing and Digital plant as neededCompetencies Include:InformingReportingDecidingChecking objectsReviewingUsing instrumentsTeamworkFollowing instructionsChecking written informationPerforming physical tasksUsing a keyboard/computer, calculating/countingPhysical Demands:Ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to walk, sit, reach, squat, bend, climbAbility to lift 50 lbsPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
