Job description

Job SummaryProcesses quality products safely and efficiently by setting up, operating and performing simple programming of a slitting machine.Job ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup: Read work orders to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templatesOperation: Activate the machine by pressing buttons or depressing pedals, and monitor operation to detect defects or malfunctionsQuality Control: Measure work piece dimensions to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications. Inspect material quality throughout the production processMaintenance: Perform routine maintenance and address minor machine issues as neededAdditional Duties: Execute other tasks as assigned to support production efficiency and team goalsQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: 1 – 2 years of experience in a production environment, with preference for experience in the metals industry and as a slitter operatorOvertime: Ability to work assigned overtime, sometimes with short noticeMeasuring Devices: Proficiency in reading measuring devicesMathematical Skills: Basic math skills for measurement and calculationsComputer Skills: Basic computer knowledgePhysical Requirements: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobilityReliability: Demonstrated reliable work historyAttention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect materials for qualityEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
