Empower Communication Across the Lifespan in Minnesota's Capital City – Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career that amplifies your purpose — literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the thriving community of Saint Paul, your role extends beyond managing communication and swallowing challenges; it involves unlocking potential, rebuilding confidence, and fostering vital human connections — aiding everyone from young children articulating their first words to elderly individuals reclaiming their independence.

In this exceptional role, you will have the chance to work with a diverse clientele throughout different life stages, all while enjoying a blend of outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient care. Whether your heart lies in pediatric speech development, adult communication disorders resulting from neurogenic issues, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors, you'll discover a profound sense of purpose and adaptable work environment here.

Description

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods.

Craft individualized treatment plans that target both immediate and overarching communication or swallowing goals.

Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions.

Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop harmonized care strategies.

Provide essential education and resources to patients and families to bolster their progress during non-clinical hours.

Assist in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the treatment process.

Keep comprehensive and prompt documentation that adheres to regulatory standards set by local, state, and national guidelines.

Engage in ongoing professional development and peer interactions to remain at the forefront of industry advancements.

Education

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

Possession of state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

The Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of commencing employment.

Skills

Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies appropriate for all age groups, encompassing a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

The ability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Robust clinical judgment coupled with effective problem-solving skills.

Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.

Benefits

Competitive compensation reflecting your level of experience.

Flexible scheduling options to promote work-life balance and manage a diverse caseload.

Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.

Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available.

Support for continuing education and professional growth.

A collaborative team culture centered on delivering quality care and fostering lifelong learning.

A Career That Moves with You — and Moves You

In this role, you won't only provide speech therapy; you'll be part of a mission-driven community aimed at restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating joy through the simplest forms of human interaction: understanding and being understood.

You'll find yourself working alongside colleagues who treat each other as family, in an environment that champions collaboration over competition. Every patient brings their own narrative; we will trust you to help shape how it unfolds.

Why You'll Love Living and Working Here

In Saint Paul, discover a vibrant lifestyle that marries cultural richness with the warmth of Midwestern hospitality. Food lovers are in for a treat with a range of dining options, from trendy restaurants serving gourmet cuisine to local joints famous for their iconic Minnesota dishes.

The area hums with creativity, visible in its vibrant murals and heard in the rhythms of local performances that resonate throughout the city. For professionals, the perks extend beyond leisure — with no state income tax and numerous employment opportunities within a booming healthcare sector, this dynamic city ensures your career can flourish.

Whether you are just beginning your career or are a seasoned professional looking to make a meaningful change, here you will find ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Who We're Looking For

We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not just by clinical outcomes but also by empathy and insight. This is someone who sees a quiet child and imagines a future full of self-expression, or hears the slurred speech of a stroke survivor and perceives a heart full of determination.

You may be a pediatric specialist aiming to broaden your expertise into adult therapy — or a neuro-focused clinician eager to include early intervention strategies in your practice.

Your passion for speech therapy drives you forward, and if you exhibit genuine care and skill in your work, we are eager to embrace you as part of our team.

Let's Find the Right Words — Together

If your philosophy transcends mere sounds and tasks — if you believe in nurturing trust as a precursor to progress, and relish the joy of laughter alongside language — this could be your next career milestone.

Join us in a community that values the art of communication, the essence of connection, and the bravery it takes to embark on new beginnings. Apply today to contribute your voice to our team and support others in finding theirs.
