Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SMALL ARMS REPAIRER, Position Description Number D1227000 and is part of the CO MATES 64, National Guard. The purpose of this position is perform maintenance, repair, and inspections on small arms and related devices.
Responsibilities
Performs accurization of national match weapons (pistols, rifles, and light machine guns) on a limited basis. Disassembles weapons, assemblies, subassemblies and other components. Performs overhaul, maintenance, and repair on a variety of small arms. Uses micrometer to measure altered tolerances and makes additional adjustments as required. Is responsible for accountability, storage and security of arms and other sensitive items while they are kept for repair, usually in vaults with limited access. May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT). Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-1 thru E-8 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience with substantial mechanical skill is required to effectively and efficiently repair, overhaul, and rebuild small arms for both conventional uses and for weapons involving accurization. 2. Experience to inspect, diagnose malfunctioning, wear and /or damage is required. 3. Experience applying technical manuals, regulations, specifications and drawings to determine operations, assembly and tolerances of the variety of weapons worked on is required for successful performance. 4. Experience using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools and gages is required.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
