Small Equipment Operator
Industrial Small Equipment Operator / Welder Helper Pay: $18–$22/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (occasional Saturdays) Location: Catoosa
Job Summary: We are seeking reliable Small Equipment Operators / Welder Helpers to support fabrication and welding operations in a fast-paced shop environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in fabrication, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist welders and fabricators with daily tasks and project setup
Operate small shop equipment such as grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication tools
Perform material handling, including moving and staging steel components
Clean, prep, and grind welds and materials for fabrication
Read basic measurements and assist with layout and fit-up
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines
Requirements:
Previous experience in a fabrication shop, welding environment, or similar hands-on role
Comfortable using hand and power tools (grinders, tape measures, drills, etc.)
Basic knowledge of fabrication processes and shop safety
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Willingness to learn and take direction from lead welders and supervisors
Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a welder helper or in a structural steel environment
Familiarity with measuring, cutting, and material prep
Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
