This role will primarily support TaxAct as the organization helpseveryday Americansfile their taxes.Weseekto build a team of experts in tax and technology whoare customer advocatesand have the mindset toreimaginethe services our customers receive.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a remote, seasonalTaxActSMB Xpertagent, you will playan important rolein delivering a delightful experience that seeks to unlock tax advantages for ourForm 1065 and Form 1120-Scustomers byleveragingyour taxexpertiseand exceptional communicationandinterpersonalskills.YouwillhelpTaxActcustomersconfidently filetheirtaxesby providing expert guidance and advice, reviewing tax calculations, and clarifying questions within the online software.This is aseasonal, virtual, customer-facing role.

Helpcustomersunderstand,ineverydaylanguage,howtaxrulesapplytotheirspecifictax return filing situation, including the filing of both federal and state tax returns.

Applydefinedpractices,procedures,andcompanypoliciestotroubleshootandresolvetaxadvicecustomer inquiries.

Follow Circular 230, Internal Revenue Code, and Treasury Regulations, as well as any applicable state and local rules, regulations, and requirements governing the preparation of tax returns.

Overall support of the TaxActtax preparation relatedproducts through phoneand written communication,asneeded,providing a positive customer experiencethat instills customer confidence.

UsediscretionandprofessionaljudgmenttounderstandwhichtopicsmaybebeyondtheTaxActXperts' knowledge and/or out of scope.

Troubleshootandresolvecustomerinquiriesutilizingdefinedprocessesandprocedures.

Conducttaxresearchleveragingtrustworthysourcestoensurethecustomerisreceivingaccurate information.

Identifyappropriatedataentrypointsforvariousformsandtaxdocuments.

Useapplicationsprovidedin conjunction with applicable equipmenttointeractwithcustomers.

Ability to work in an area free of distractions.

At times, this role may berequiredto act as a subject matter expert to provide knowledge andexpertisein a specific subject, business, or technical area to answer agent/customer questions.

May becross-trainedon other product linesin order tosupport other queues, as needed.

Additionaljob duties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 years of experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for a minimum of 20 entities per year, with 30 or more per year preferred.

Experience preparing business returnsofservice industry tax entities is preferred.

Experience withtransitioning accounting records and reports to tax returns.

An active unrestricted credential: Enrolled Agent (EA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)required.

Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)required.

Experience providing support in a call centerenvironmenta plus.

Must be proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations software as wellas haveexperience with online tax software.

Proven experience conducting tax researchleveragingtrustworthy sources.

Able todemonstrateconsistent and well-roundedexpertisein the preparation of individual income tax returns.

Strong customer service skills – ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a way that is professional, friendly, and reassuring.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Audit experiencea plus(IRS and state tax authorities).

Prior experience preparing returns usingTaxActa plus.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Critical thinking, problem-solving, research skills, and determination.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills (written & spoken) a plus.

Must have (or be willing to obtain) a private, dedicated hardwired internet connection.
