Job Duties

nPosition Summary

nThe Salvation Army Northern Division Minneapolis Central's Social Services Coordinator provides direct assistance to program participants. The Coordinator also recruits and provides a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty.

n$20.14 to $23.50 per hour, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday

nEssential Functions (approximate time spent)

nProvide participants with direct assistance (e.g., foodshelf, Heatshare, vouchers). (30%)

nConduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants. (30%)

nMaintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry. (15%)

nFacilitate individual and group educational activities. (10%)

nAssist with seasonal and special events. (5%)

nRecruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with participants and throughout the community. (5%)

nEngage in internal activities to promote and further POH goals and objectives. (5%)

nEducation and Experience

nAssociate degree in relevant field preferred. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.

nIf degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board.

nPrevious social services experience required.

nMust pass background checks.

nValid driver's license and meet MVR requirements preferred.

nProficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.

nMust be able communicate clearly in English.

nStandard business hours with infrequent evenings and weekends.

nMust be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds.

nSupervisory Responsibilities

nNone.

nTravel Requirements

nMay occasionally drive agency vehicle locally to support the mission if MVR check cleared. May be required to use public transportation to support the mission if unable to drive on behalf of The Salvation Army.
