Job Duties
nPosition Summary
nThe Salvation Army Northern Division Rochester Corps Social Services Coordinator provides direct assistance to program participants. The Coordinator also recruits and provides a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty.
nWage range: $23 to $24.25 per hour, 40 hours a week

nEssential Functions (approximate time spent)
nProvide participants with direct support and assistance (e.g., housing assessments, Heatshare, vouchers, financial assistance). (45%)
nMaintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry and internal reporting. (25%)
nConduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants. (10%)
nAssist with seasonal and special events. (5%)
nRecruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with participants and throughout the community. (5%)
nOccasionally assist with food preparation and meal service. (5%)
nEngage in internal and external activities to promote and further The Salvation Army and POH goals and objectives. (5%)
nEducation and Experience
nAssociate degree in relevant field preferred. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
nIf degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board.
nPrevious social services experience required.
nMust pass background checks.
nValid driver's license and meet MVR requirements preferred.
nServSafe certification required or ability to gain certification within 90 days of employment (the organization will pay for the certification).

nProficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.

nA variety of work including sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting, climbing, and twisting.
nProfessional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
nMust be able communicate clearly in English.
nStandard business hours with infrequent evenings and weekends.
nMust be able to occasionally lift 40 pounds.
nSupervisory Responsibilities
nNone.
nDriving/Travel Requirements
nMay occasionally drive agency vehicle locally to support the mission if MVR check cleared.
