About the Position: The Oral Health Social Worker provides dental care coordination that promotes oral health and reduces barriers to dental care for individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan. The social worker provides dental care coordination by conducting psychosocial and social determinants of health assessments related to oral health needs; provide case management, care coordination, and referrals for dental and supportive services; assist individuals and families in accessing dental insurance, Medicaid, transportation, and financial assistance programs; educate communities on oral health promotion and disease prevention; support maternal and child oral health initiatives, school-based dental programs, and community outreach efforts; collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners to coordinate comprehensive care; advocate for policies and programs that improve oral health access and reduce disparities; collect and analyze data to support oral health program planning, evaluation, and quality improvement; participate in emergency preparedness and response activities that impact oral health service delivery; promote culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and equitable approaches to oral health care.

What you'll need to be Successful: Candidate should demonstrate good communication skills, leadership skills, customer service, good rapport with patients and the public.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience. Appointing authority may require a master's degree and/or social worker's license.
