Job description
Social Worker 2
The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Social Worker 2. An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate or eligible for an Emergency license as deemed necessary by the New Jersey Department of Education is required. Master's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Basic functions and responsibilities include consulting with supervisors, resource teacher/coordinators and/or classroom teachers regarding students identified as at-risk, conferring with and supporting master teachers and preschool classroom teachers in planning strategies, adapting teaching practices and making modifications, conducting regular, periodic visits to classrooms, observing and modeling appropriate strategies and interventions, observing, providing feedback, and making recommendations regarding application of strategies, classroom modifications, and the selection of adaptive materials and equipment, planning and implementing professional development for special education teachers, master teachers, assistants, and administrators, coordinating meetings in which professionals in all disciplines and families have the opportunity to consult, collaborate and plan as a team, assisting teachers and master teachers with strategies for involving and educating families, gathering data related to the performance of identified youngsters, generating written professional reports, participating in Child Study Team meetings as requested, serving as a resource to families, students and school/center staff to assist in the dissemination of information, referral for services and the development of program planning, monitoring the progress of pupils with their jurisdiction, coordinating with and to foster positive relationships staff, school administrators, center directors, teachers, students, parents and family workers, maintaining and reporting at required intervals accurate statistical data related to productivity and case responsibilities, and performing additional or alternative duties, which are within the scope of employment, and certification.

Salary: $72,250 - $112,250
Employment Period: Ten (10) Months
