Job description

Social Worker Opportunity

The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. Since 1996, we've worked alongside communities, courts, and those most directly affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies: operating programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges; conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn't; and providing expert assistance and policy guidance to reformers across the country and beyond.

Backed by decades of on-the-ground experience and nationally recognized expertise, we bring innovative, practical, and lasting solutions to justice systems nationwide.

Bronx Community Solutions (BCS) is seeking a Social Worker for their adult intervention programming. Bronx Community Solutions is an initiative that seeks to reengineer the response to low-level crime in the Bronx. By providing judges with additional sentencing options for non-violent offenders, Bronx Community Solutions reduces the reliance on short-term jail sentences and offers defendants the assistance they need to avoid further criminal conduct.

Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor/Program Manager, the ATI Social Worker will be primarily responsible for the facilitation and coordination of a brief group intervention for justice-involved individuals as well as conducting clinical assessments, making appropriate treatment referrals, and reporting to court. The intervention is grounded in procedural justice, risk-need-responsivity, and trauma-informed care and is designed to help participants reflect on environmental factors that influence, and often constrain, decision making.
