About the Position: This position is with Directorate of Medical Services located in Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA. Responsibilities

Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.

Collect biopsychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods.

Analyze information collected to identify symptoms and develop treatment plan.

Provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans.

Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated for adults and children.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis.

Provide emergency on-call crisis management services for behavioral health cases and all other social work needs as designated by the section or department needs.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Clinical): Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (NOTE: You must attach copy of your transcripts)In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes independently performing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for patients with complex medical or surgical conditions; developing and implementing advanced interventions and interdisciplinary care plans; and leading safe, effective discharge planning for high-risk individuals requiring specialized post-acute services, legal coordination, or extensive resource support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). AND Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your license) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
