Social Worker in Coal Center, PA
Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting essential school-based mental health programs in a full-time contract opportunity. Two onsite openings are available: one at McMurray, providing services to emotional support and partial hospitalization programs, and another as a long-term substitute in Coal Center from October 2026 to January 2027. These roles require a compassionate professional ready to address diverse student needs and collaborate closely with school teams, families, and community partners.
Required Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Social Work or related field
Active Pennsylvania State License
PDE Educational Specialist certification preferred (If not currently held, eligibility for an emergency certificate will be considered)
Experience in school-based settings or with children and adolescents strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills
Proven ability to support students social, emotional, and behavioral growth
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and counseling to students within designated programs
Conduct individual and group interventions addressing academic, behavioral, and emotional barriers
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized student plans
Facilitate crisis intervention and support school-wide mental health initiatives
Complete timely and accurate documentation, case notes, and compliance reports
Contribute to a positive school climate through advocacy and proactive engagement
