Job description
Step into a rewarding part-time opportunity as a School Social Worker supporting a center-based service agency serving students ranging from 2nd grade through junior year-primarily ages 7 to 15. This position is conveniently located near Kalamazoo, MI, and is ideal for those interested in contract assignments and flexible work arrangements, including travel and virtual options.
In this impactful role, you'll work closely with a caseload of approximately 20-25 students, delivering essential social-emotional support and intervention. You'll engage both in-person and, as needed, virtually to address diverse student needs and collaborate with education professionals and families to ensure the best outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid 310 School Social Worker Certification required
Previous experience working within a school setting highly preferred
Strong understanding of developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs in school-aged children
Ability to develop and implement social-emotional and behavioral interventions
Comfortable with both in-person and virtual service delivery
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to cultural competence and fostering inclusive environments
Key Responsibilities: Provide social-emotional support and crisis intervention for students
Conduct assessments, develop IEP-related goals, and participate in team meetings
Counsel students individually and in small groups, addressing a range of school-related and personal concerns
Partner with teachers, families, and staff to create a supportive educational environment
Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with regulatory guidelines
The district offers flexibility in hours and workdays, accommodating your schedule over roughly 20-25 hours per week. Compensation for this role ranges from $80 to $85 per hour based on experience, ensuring your skills are valued for the critical difference you make.
