Social Worker in Pittston, PA
Step into a pivotal role supporting students as a School Social Worker for the school year! This full-time contract position begins as soon as possible and extends through June 2027. Located in a vibrant school community near Pittston, PA, this opportunity allows you to make a lasting impact across elementary grade levels.
You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team—there are three openings—focusing on caseloads in K-4 or K-2, as well as a K-12 assignment. Your expertise will be key in developing supportive environments for student growth and well-being.
Job Description
Qualifications & Experience:
Active and current School Social Worker license required (must be specific to school social work)
Prior experience in K-12 or elementary educational settings preferred
Strong foundational skills in advocacy, crisis intervention, and case management
Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and families
Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable in dynamic school environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive social work services to students in assigned caseload (K-4, K-2, or K-12)
Conduct student assessments and develop intervention strategies
Collaborate with educators, families, and community agencies to support individualized student needs
Lead or participate in team meetings and conferences to support academic and social-emotional goals
Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and legal standards
