Provides support to the Enterprise by delivering reliable technology solutions for a business-critical P&C Auto policy administration platform. Engaged throughout the software systems and application development lifecycle, with an emphasis on Java and Spring Boot development, production troubleshooting, system stability, observability, resilience, refactoring, and performance optimization within a containerized OpenShift and Kubernetes environment.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be
in the office 4 days per week.

Investigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.
Continually improves operations by conducting complex systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
Prepares and installs complex solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Follows the software development lifecycle.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Bachelors degree; 4 years of software development experience demonstrating technical depth in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, or similar enterprise application technologies.
~2 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle to include leading code/design reviews.
~ Developing level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, risk management, industry practices and emerging trends.
~ Experience supporting efforts to address production issues through troubleshooting applications and systems.
~ Experience supporting applications that integrate with mainframe or other legacy technologies.
~ Experience applying DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices to business-critical production applications.
~ Experience with AWS technologies and services.
~ Experience using automation or AI-assisted tools to improve engineering and production support processes

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
