Job description

Software Dev Engineer, AWS CX - Cloudscape

Job ID: | Amazon.com Services LLC

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Cloudscape team and work on the new initiative to develop intent based UX at scale especially for AWS Management Console UX . You will design, build, and operate systems that will have direct impact on AWS service builders' team to develop AWS Management Console UX at scale.

This is not a role where you implement features in isolation. You will work across the full stack: from the Cora API, working with AWS SDK and cross-functional teams across all AWS service builders community. You will use GenAI technologies, validation agents to develop and validate the UX produced using LLM. You will own systems end-to-end – from design through production operations – and your work will be measured by builder experience outcomes, not lines of code.

Key job responsibilities

Design and own end-to-end systems, spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend integration.

Build and evolve GenAI-powered services that support intent based UX generation, validation, and automation workflows.

Contribute to long-term technical vision and architecture decisions.

Balance short-term delivery with scalable, maintainable system design.

Work directly with AWS builders community and internal teams to understand needs and translate them into robust solutions.

Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline-based deployment.

Think big about the agentic era and experiment boldly with AI-powered capabilities such as conversational setup, natural-language troubleshooting, and AI-assisted fleet management.

Contribute to hiring, mentor junior engineers, and raise the overall engineering bar.

A day in the life

Engage the AWS builders community and stakeholders in the various Cloudscape organization. Review critical CRs and mentor others on the team. Contextualize and simplify UX builder experience challenges for stakeholders and engage multiple AWS teams, security and operational excellence teams. Even though the oncall activities are minimum in this team, still participate in oncall rotations, monitor operations and business metrics dashboard. Support AWS builders community and stakeholders to unblock them in real time on console builder experience issues.

About the team

Our team builds Cloudscape, the AWS Design System and Cora builder experience for AWS UX builders community. We deliver a shared, consistent foundation used across the AWS Management Console, including reusable UI components.

Our team has a broad mix of experience levels and Amazon tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship.

We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why flexible work hours and arrangements are part of our culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.
