Work Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid - Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday)
Position Type: 1+ Year Contract (High potential for Conversion to Hire after 1 year)
Pay Rate: Around $70/Hr
About the Role
Are you a technical developer who loves building cutting-edge AI prototypes, but also enjoys stepping away from the keyboard to consult with business leaders? SAP NS2 is looking for an AI Solution Engineer (Software Engineer T2) to join our Central AI & Data Observability (AIDO) organization within the AI Platform Strategy & Services team. This is a high-visibility, "dual-hat" role operating at the intersection of business strategy and rapid hands-on engineering. You will act as a strategic consultant to identify high-impact AI opportunities across various Lines of Business (LOBs), and as a technical builder to bring those opportunities to life on our enterprise AI Platform.
Responsibilities
Discovery & Assessment: Partner with LOBs to map existing business processes, capture requirements, and identify friction points where AI/Automation can significantly reduce manual effort.
Solution Design: Translate vague business requirements into concrete technical solutions that leverage our Hub-and-Spoke AIDO Platform.
Value Engineering: Develop "AI Value Scorecards" to estimate potential ROI and Level of Effort (LOE) reductions for proposed use cases.
Center of Excellence: Drive enterprise-wide adoption of Generative AI principles, assisting teams with existing and planned platform capabilities.
Platform Mastery: Maintain a current development environment against the AI Platform’s APIs and UI services.
Informal POCs: Conduct rapid technical validation by building functional prototypes in a sandbox environment utilizing AWS OpenSearch, RAG patterns, and LLM orchestration.
Technical Feasibility: Perform "smoke tests" on LOB data to ensure it is viable for the proposed AI application before full-scale development begins.
Reference Implementation: Build and maintain a library of "Golden Path" code samples and templates to accelerate LOB developers.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Required Skills
Technical Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience with Python or JavaScript and interacting with RESTful APIs.
Cloud Infrastructure: Strong familiarity with cloud-based data environments, specifically AWS OpenSearch and S3.
Generative AI Concepts: Solid understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture.
Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to deconstruct complex business workflows into logical steps for automation.
Communication: Exceptional ability to explain technical AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a persuasive, consultative manner.
Pay range and compensation package
Pay Rate: Around $70/Hr
