Job description

Amazon Web Services is looking for senior engineers to help us define and build the future of computing. The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) service delivers high performance virtualized storage "in the cloud" for EC2. Data service offerings are the differentiating factor that drive customer adoption of AWS and EBS within public cloud marketplace. As a member of the EBS team you'll work alongside bar-raising engineers and leaders to develop and operate one of the largest distributed storage systems in the world. We strive to delight our customers with features that simplify their business and operational workflows while staying conformant to security and performance requirements

Key job responsibilities

You will have opportunities to develop software on the latest platforms and drive the roadmap for the next generation. You will have an immediate impact on millions of customers, improving their experience as their applications run in the AWS Cloud.

A day in the life

You will collaborate with and learn from the industry's best minds to solve interesting and challenging problems at an enormous scale on a daily basis. This collaboration extends beyond just the team in EBS. You will have the opportunity to work with many other teams in AWS to build a secure, performant, and reliable system.

About the team

The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) Data Services team is comprised of a diverse set of deep systems level software experts. We are responsible for the movement and transformation of data between the EBS storage primitives of volumes and snapshots. We own everything from the long term roadmap, design, implementation, and testing to the day to day monitoring and observability of the system.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge-sharing and mentorship.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
