Akkodis is seeking a Lead Workday Software Engineer for one of our clients in McLean, VA.

Rate Range: $75.00 to $82.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
We are seeking a Lead Workday Software Engineer to join a growing Workday Enterprise Capabilities organization. This role requires a strong combination of Workday expertise and software engineering skills, with experience across Core HCM, Financials, and Integrations.
The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can solve complex challenges, influence stakeholders, and partner with both business and engineering teams to deliver scalable Workday solutions.
This is a contract-to-hire position.
Please note, we are not able to work on C2C for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Workday solutions.
Provide expertise across Workday Core HCM, Financials, and Integrations.
Apply software engineering best practices to Workday development.
Analyze complex business and technical challenges and deliver scalable solutions.
Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
Contribute to technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap planning.
Drive process improvements and optimize Workday capabilities.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate across teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled engineering tools.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience with Workday, including Core HCM, Financials, Integrations.
Strong software engineering background.
Proven technical leadership experience.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to solve and clearly communicate complex technical solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience collaborating with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive initiatives forward.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as a Lead Workday Engineer or similar technical leadership role.
Experience leading technical teams or large-scale initiatives.
Experience defining and executing technical strategy.
Hands-on experience with AI-enabled development tools.
Experience in a large, complex enterprise environment.
Experience mentoring and developing technical talent.
