IDEMIA National Security Solutions (NSS) is the premier provider of integrated identity solutions for United States Government. NSS’ leading software systems; data and analytics offerings; and professional servicesfacilitateand automate many of the business processes for government agencies serving law enforcement, military, and intelligence missions. This position is eligible for remote work.

Summary

IDEMIA National Security Solutions is seeking a Software Systems Integration Engineer with a well-rounded engineering background in Linux systems, platform operations, infrastructure automation, DevOps, and systems integration. This role supports the deployment, automation, modernization, monitoring, and sustainment of mission-critical biometric and identity management systems. The successful candidate will support customer environments requiring infrastructure automation, automated software deployments, and CI/CD pipeline operations across development, test, and production environments. Location: DC or Morgantown, WV preferred. Remote will be considered.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) activities including troubleshooting, defect resolution, software updates, system monitoring, performance tracking, and operational support.

Integrate software with biometric systems, identity management systems, enterprise applications, databases, hardware, and third-party products.

Architect software and systems integration solutions across applications, databases, cloud services, hardware, and external systems.

Support application deployment and lifecycle management using RPM-based deployment methodologies while contributing to the organization's transition toward containerized and cloud-native deployment architectures.

Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, and scripting to support application installation, configuration management, patching, upgrades, deployment, and operational workflows.

Administer and support Linux-based production, development, and test environments.

Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards.

Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release processes across development, test, and production environments to improve deployment reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with software engineering, systems engineering, and operations teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.

Support platform reliability, capacity planning, system health monitoring, and incident response activities.

Maintain software baselines, source code repositories, release artifacts, and configuration records in accordance with established configuration management processes.

Support modernization initiatives including legacy platform transformation, containerization, Kubernetes adoption, and cloud-native deployment architectures through proof-of-concept, migration, and integration activities.

Document software architectures, system designs, interfaces, deployments, and implementation approaches.

Develop operational documentation, deployment standards, and automation runbooks supporting both current-state and future-state platform architectures.

Experience working in small teams.

Ability to work multiple projects and problems in parallel.

Ability and willingness to travel for some assignments.

Occasional O&M support outside business hours.

Required Experience

Active Secret Security Clearance

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.

5+ years of experience with systems engineering, platform engineering, DevOps

2 years software engineering experience.

Experience supporting Linux-based production systems.

Experience developing and maintaining automated deployment solutions.

Experience using Ansible in enterprise environments.

Experience implementing or supporting system monitoring and alerting solutions.

Experience troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues in production environments.

Relevant Experience

Biometrics, image processing, computer vision, decision theory

AWS

Supporting Linux-based application deployments using RPM packages and configuration management tools.

Developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, and deployment automation.

Supporting enterprise monitoring and operational visibility solutions.

Containerizing existing applications and services.

Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.

Migrating traditional application deployments toward containerized architectures.

Implementing GitOps or modern platform engineering practices.
