Solar Installers Needed for Public Works Prevailing Wage WorkThis is prevailing wage work pay is set per the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) prevailing wage determination for this classification and county - DIR prevailing wage determination (plus applicable fringe benefits).Responsibilities:Install solar PV systems, mounting hardware, and racking on commercial/public works sitesRun and terminate conduit, wiring, and electrical connections per code and project specsFollow OSHA safety standards and site-specific safety plansWork from blueprints/plans and coordinate with crew leads and inspectorsAccurately report hours and work performed for certified payroll complianceRequirements:Prior experience in solar installation or related electrical/construction tradeAbility to pass a background check and, if applicable, provide DIR public works registrationOSHA 10 or 30 certification preferredValid driver's license; reliable transportation to Burbank job siteWillingness to comply with certified payroll reporting requirements (accurate daily time records)Why Work With Us:Prevailing wage pay rate for your classificationSteady public works project scheduleOpportunities for additional prevailing wage projects across the LA areaQualifications:Extensive knowledge in Solar InstallationAble to work under a solar Crew Lead ExperienceAbility to map out solar arraysExperience with the Enphase system (preferred)Solar Installer ExperienceBenefits Offers:Paid time offSick Time OffHoliday PayOpportunities to advanceDental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceJob Responsibilities:As a Solar Installer, you will work closely with the team to complete residential and small commercial solar installation projects under your foreman's watch.Excellent documentation skillsProfessional appearance and client interaction abilitiesConstruction-related experiencePhysical Requirements:Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balanceAbility to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidityAbility to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills, including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinchingAbility to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipmentAbility to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of heightAbility to work in the sun and possibly low light conditionsAbility to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damageAbility to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, greenAbility to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouchingAbility to hear verbal commands and warningsAbility to work with chemicals using appropriate protectionsAbility to climb ladders with up to 50lbs on your backWork in extreme environments (i.e. hot sun, cold weather, hot attics, etc.)Ability to walk on a residential roof with safety equipment (harnesses and ropes provided)Installation of roof-mounted solar systemsRacking and solar array assemblySealing all roof penetrationsTrenching, concrete work, and equipment assemblyProject clean upQualifications:To take on this important role, you must be a proven leader and problem solver with: High school diploma or equivalentA minimum of two years of construction experience, including one year in solar installationExperience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VACValid driver's license and clean driving recordState electrical certification/license preferredAbility to perform all duties of the Installer and Lead InstallerKnowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standardsUnderstanding of relevant OSHA standardsCPR and first aid certificationsComputer skills with Microsoft Excel and WordStrong mechanical/construction abilitiesExcellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills5% travel is requiredPrevious solar installation experiencePrior experience leading teams of 3-5Electrical and/or roofing experienceStrong attention to detailAbility to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)Valid driver's license and clean driving recordClean DMV MVR REPORTHours/Shifts:Monday to Thursday, 10 hour shift scheduleOvertime OpportunitiesWeekend Availability
