Job description
Soldering TechnicianParadigm is seeking a skilled Soldering Technician to assemble, modify, inspect, and rework electronic products to IPC and company quality standards. This position performs hand soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components, completes printed circuit board modifications, and supports mechanical and production assembly activities. The ideal candidate has hands-on soldering or electronics production experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow drawings consistently, work instructions, and quality requirements. Type: 6 month contract-to-hire Shift: Day Shift (5:00AM - 3:30pm, Mon - Thurs) Pay: $20-$26 per hour Location: On-site, Vancouver, WA Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, PTO, and sick leaveAs a Soldering Technician, you will:Assemble electronic products according to drawings, work instructions, and documentation requirementsPrep, install, remove, and touch up through-hole and surface-mount components using hand-soldering techniquesPerform printed circuit board modifications, including wire and jumper-wire installation and trace cuttingPerform mechanical assembly using work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructionsRead, understand, and navigate Fusion and FactoryLogix documentationPrep and stuff printed circuit boards and assist with selective solder operationsOperate in-line and batch washers according to work instructionsOperate board heaters according to work instructionsDepanel electronic assemblies according to work instructionsPerform epoxy, RTV, and potting work according to documentationInspect your own work and the work of others according to the IPC-A-610 class specified in the documentationTrack job status and production time using a Manufacturing Execution SystemObtain and maintain IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certificationsObtain and maintain IPC-7711 certification if required by the teamFollow safety, electrostatic discharge, ITAR, and Quality Management System requirementsMaintain 6S standards and identify opportunities to improve production processesParticipate in Lean manufacturing activities and adapt to process changesTake instructions, ask questions, and work collaboratively with team membersRequirements Our skills and experience wish list includes:Previous soldering experiencePrevious production or manufacturing experienceExperience performing through-hole or surface-mount solderingAbility to read and follow drawings, work instructions, and production documentationGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a teamBasic computer skillsStrong attention to detailPreferred Qualifications:One to two years of soldering experienceTwo years of experience in a production or electronics manufacturing environmentCurrent IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711 certificationExperience using Fusion or FactoryLogixExperience performing PCB rework or modificationsExperience with both through-hole and surface-mount componentsStrong interpersonal and teamwork skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, depending on the assigned job tasksVisual acuity sufficient to perform detailed electronics assembly and inspection work, including work under a microscopeAbility to pass a vision examination with a minimum visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye, with or without corrective lensesAbility to pass a color-vision test and accurately distinguish color-coded components and materialsAbout Us, ParadigmWant to love Mondays?
