Template Technician – Surfaces / Natural StoneThis position is responsible for creating accurate templates for the fabrication and installation of quartz, granite, and other natural stone countertops, as well as solid surface materials. The Template Technician ensures precise measurements and clear documentation to support successful production and installation.Essential FunctionsCreate accurate templates in accordance with job specifications and department proceduresPerform field measurements at residential and/or commercial job sitesUtilize templating methods including laser templating systems and/or traditional (manual/stick) templating techniquesLoad, transport, and maintain templating tools and materials required for daily assignmentsRead and interpret architectural drawings, layouts, and technical documentsCommunicate effectively with Order Control, Sales, fabrication teams, and customers regarding template details and schedulingEnsure proper maintenance and care of templating equipment and toolsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerform additional duties as assignedCompetencies / Skills / AbilitiesExperience in countertop templating, installation, fabrication, or related field preferredExperience with quartz, granite, or stone products strongly preferredFamiliarity with either laser templating equipment or traditional templating methods is acceptableAbility to read and understand basic drawings and job specificationsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and customer-facing skillsWillingness to learn and be trained on company templating systems and processesEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrior industry experience preferred but not required; candidates with related construction, carpentry, or installation backgrounds encouraged to applyWilling to train candidates with transferable skills and a strong work ethicWork EnvironmentThis role operates in both field (job site) and manufacturing environmentsPhysical DemandsRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands and armsAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, occasionally up to 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical tasks in job site and shop environmentsPosition Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull-time position; schedule may vary based on business needs
