Worknovasllc is seeking an experienced, highly technical, and accomplished Solution/Data Architect with 12+ years of professional enterprise architecture, data warehousing, and big data engineering experience to join our client engagement team on a 12+ month contract basis (onsite in Peoria, IL). In this specialized enterprise architecture role, you will spearhead designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable data warehouse solutions, cloud data pipelines, and advanced analytics architectures utilizing Snowflake, PySpark, Python, and AWS cloud services. You will work closely with C-suite stakeholders, enterprise software engineers, and data science squads to translate complex business requirements into high-performance, secure cloud data platforms. Detailed Job Description
As a Solution/Data Architect at Worknovasllc in Peoria, IL, you will take full ownership of end-to-end data architecture design, cloud data warehouse modeling, ETL pipeline optimization, and cloud security governance. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass architecting Snowflake data platforms, developing distributed data processing pipelines with PySpark and Python, managing serverless data ingestion workflows via AWS Lambda and AWS Glue, and enforcing robust identity and access management (IAM) policies. You will collaborate proactively with cross-functional development squads to resolve performance bottlenecks, ensure data governance compliance, and deliver enterprise-grade analytics solutions. Working in a fast-paced technology consulting environment, you will drive data-driven transformation, systems scalability, and cloud reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade solution architectures and modern data warehouse platforms.
Spearhead Snowflake data warehouse design, multi-cluster scaling, virtual warehouse tuning, and secure data sharing.
Develop scalable big data processing pipelines, ETL transformations, and distributed workflows utilizing PySpark and Python.
Architect and implement serverless data ingestion and processing pipelines utilizing AWS Lambda and AWS Glue.
Enforce rigorous enterprise security standards, IAM role policies, encryption standards, and cloud compliance frameworks.
Collaborate proactively with C-suite stakeholders, software engineering squads, and enterprise business analysts.
Optimize large-scale SQL queries, database indexing, and cloud compute resource utilization to reduce latency and infrastructure costs.
Conduct rigorous technical evaluations, code reviews, and architectural assessments for cloud data platforms.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture blueprints, data dictionary registries, and pipeline runbooks.
Ensure strict adherence to data governance best practices, enterprise security baselines, and project timelines (12+ months duration).
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 12+ years of total professional working experience in IT, software engineering, and enterprise architecture.
Proven hands-on experience in Solution Architecture and Data Warehouse design for large-scale enterprise environments.
Expert technical proficiency and operational mastery of Snowflake data warehousing.
Strong programming proficiency in PySpark and Python for big data processing and automation.
Extensive practical experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) core components, specifically AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and IAM security.
Exceptional analytical problem-solving capabilities, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Professional availability for full-time contract employment onsite in Peoria, IL (Duration: 12+ months)
Nice-to-Have Skills
Professional certifications such as Snowflake Certified Data Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or TOGAF Enterprise Architecture certification.
