Compass Pointe Golf Club, part of the Heritage Golf Group portfolio, is seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This is a full-time opportunity for a hands-on culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering an exceptional dining experience for members and guests.
The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to support daily kitchen operations, maintain high standards for food quality and presentation, and help lead and develop kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
Prepare and oversee the preparation of high-quality menu items in accordance with club standards
Help supervise, train, and support culinary team members
Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, portioning, and preparation
Assist with food preparation and service during busy dining periods, events, and banquets
Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently followed
Assist with inventory, product rotation, receiving, and minimizing food waste
Help maintain an organized, efficient, and professional kitchen environment
Collaborate with the culinary and Food & Beverage teams to provide an excellent member and guest experience
Step into a leadership role in the kitchen when the Executive Chef is unavailable
Perform additional duties as needed to support culinary operations
Qualifications
Previous culinary experience required; prior Sous Chef, Lead Cook, or kitchen leadership experience preferred
Strong cooking skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
Ability to lead by example and work effectively as part of a team
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Dependable, professional, and committed to high standards of quality
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by club operations
