Wichita, KS $20-$25/hour + Overtime Career Advancement Opportunity
We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef for one of Wichita's busiest kitchens. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong line cook or experienced culinary professional who is ready to take the next step into kitchen leadership.
Working alongside an experienced Executive Chef and Sous Chef team, you will gain hands-on leadership experience, help lead high-volume service, and develop the skills necessary to advance into a Sous Chef position within approximately 1-1.5 years.
Key Responsibilities
Lead high-volume kitchen service and oversee 12-15 cooks during peak shifts.
Run the pass, maintain food quality, and ensure smooth, efficient service execution.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef team to maintain operational standards.
Take ownership of daily prep, station execution, and kitchen readiness.
Maintain accountability across the team while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.
Support training, development, and performance of culinary team members.
Maintain composure and effective communication during high-volume service.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or in a similar high-volume culinary role.
Demonstrated ability to execute consistently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food quality, and station execution.
Leadership potential and a desire to grow into a management position.
Positive, hardworking attitude with a team-first mentality.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while motivating others to succeed.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $20-$25/hour
Overtime: Approximately 5 hours per week on average
Salary: Negotiable for the right candidate
Career Development: Clear advancement path toward Sous Chef within approximately 1-1.5 years.
