LifeguardHelp create a safe, welcoming, and fun aquatic experience at The Salvation Army Kroc Center. We are hiring dependable Lifeguards who care about water safety, enjoy helping others, and want to make a positive impact in the community.Starting Pay: $15.00 per hourSign-On Bonus: Up to $1,200Minimum Age: 16Schedule: Flexible shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.What You'll DoMonitor assigned pool areas and respond quickly to emergenciesRescue swimmers and provide CPR, first aid, or rescue breathing when neededEnforce pool rules and promote a safe environmentControl access to pools and aquatic areasKeep pool decks, locker rooms, restrooms, and equipment areas cleanInspect equipment and report safety concerns or needed repairsProvide friendly, respectful service to members and guestsComplete other related duties as assignedQualificationsMust be at least 16 years oldAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certification requiredMust obtain American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification within 90 days of hireAED and Oxygen Administration certifications are preferredMust complete Safe From Harm training within 90 days of employmentMust be able to remain alert, communicate clearly, and respond effectively in an emergencyMust be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periodsSpanish-speaking skills are helpful but not requiredCandidates age 18 or older must successfully complete a background check$1,200 Sign-On BonusNewly hired Lifeguards may qualify for a $1,200 sign-on bonus, paid in three installments after 3, 6, and 12 months of continuous employment.To qualify, employees must:Obtain Water Safety Instructor certification within 90 daysWork an average of at least five hours per weekMaintain satisfactory attendance and follow workplace policiesRemain actively employed and in good standingIndividuals who worked as Lifeguards at the South Bend Kroc Center within the past 12 months are not eligible for the bonus.Our MissionThe Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.
