Southeast Market Manager Diesel Dudes · Charlotte, NC (hybrid) or remote in the Carolinas · Full-time
Diesel Dudes is mobile diesel repair: when a truck breaks down, we send a mechanic to it. We run a network of independent diesel mechanics across the Carolinas and are expanding across the Southeast.
We're hiring a Southeast Market Manager to grow the mechanic network that every job depends on. You'll recruit high-quality mechanics, onboard them, help them succeed on every job, and stand up new markets across the Southeast.
THE BASICS
• Reports to: the company owners
• Location: Charlotte preferred, with an optional office (hybrid). Remote anywhere in the Carolinas also works.
• Travel: not required
• Employment: full-time, W-2
• Time off: standard paid time off
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You own mechanic supply in the Southeast, from first call to a busy, well-reviewed mechanic.
Recruit high-quality mechanics
• Work the recruiting pipeline every day from our mechanic CRM: call new applicants the day they apply, run intro calls, and log every outcome.
• Find mechanics beyond the ads: referrals from our current mechanics, Facebook groups, parts counters, truck stops and diesel shops.
• Hold the bar: real diesel experience, a service truck, tools, and insurance or a clear path to it.
Onboard them
• Move each hire through the background check, contract and insurance so nobody is ever waiting on us.
• Get every new mechanic to a first paid job fast, with dispatch ready to send them work.
Help them succeed
• Project-manage the work: keep customers informed from dispatch to invoice, follow up after jobs, and ask for five-star reviews.
• Work with the dispatch team so each job goes to the right mechanic and problems get solved the same day.
• Check in with every active mechanic on availability, coverage and anything slowing them down.
Stand up new markets
• Choose the next metros with the owners, recruit the first mechanics before marketing turns on, and grow each market to steady weekly volume.
• Build each new market into a reliable bench of mechanics our dispatch team can count on.
COMPENSATION
• On-target earnings: ~$110K ($60K base salary + performance bonus)
• Performance bonus tied to company volume, paid monthly with payroll
• Health: $500 a month toward health insurance, paid through a tax-free health reimbursement plan
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
The goal is steady growth, with enough good mechanics to cover every job.
First 90 days
• Every new applicant hears from us within one business day.
• No mechanic who passed the intro call waits on us for a background check, contract or insurance review.
• Each market you own has enough active mechanics to take every job that comes in.
First year
• Company volume grows every quarter, and the mechanic bench grows with it.
• New Southeast markets are live, each with mechanics in place before marketing starts.
• Mechanics stay busy and stay with us: repeat jobs, strong reviews, few drop-offs.
WHO YOU ARE
• You know diesel trucks or the trades well enough to judge a mechanic's experience, truck and tools on a phone call.
• You have recruited, managed contractors or run field operations, and you follow up without being chased.
• You are on the phone all day and like it: mechanics, customers and dispatch all trust you.
• You keep a pipeline organized in a CRM and calendar, and nothing falls through the cracks.
• You are based in or near Charlotte, or anywhere in the Carolinas and comfortable working remotely.
