Special Education Paraprofessional
Pierce County Board of Education Vacancy Announcement September 29, 2026
Location: Blackshear Elementary School Vacancy Year: Reports to: Principal Student Services Director Qualifications:
Possess a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Must have passed the GACE paraprofessional assessment OR Obtained an Associate Degree (2-years) OR equivalent of Associates Degree (60-semester hrs).
Excellent recommendations from previous employers.
Successful paraprofessional experience preferred, but not required.
Successful middle school content knowledge preferred, but not required.
Ability to demonstrate high professional and ethical standards.
Ability to promote effective communication and interpersonal relations among students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
Possess adequate computer competencies.
Flexible and patient in educating students.
Ability to actively provide students with educational support in and out of the classroom.
Possess stamina and physical ability to work with students.
Must attend professional learning activities and implement skills learned.
