Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting diverse learners in a vibrant elementary environment. This role is based at a French Immersion School near Kansas City, where you will empower K-5 students as their dedicated Special Education Teacher. The school welcomes candidates who do not speak French, focusing on your expertise in special education and your commitment to fostering an inclusive learning community.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification (SPED) required
Experience with mixed caseloads (mild to severe disabilities preferred)
Familiarity with elementary age groups, specifically Kindergarten through 5th grade
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Supportive attitude, adaptability, and professional reliability
Role Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and adjust individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with varying abilities
Deliver engaging instruction and specialized interventions in accordance with IEPs
Work closely with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to create a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals and achievements
Commit to an 8-hour workday, Monday through Friday, at a single location
