Job description
Step into an impactful role dedicated to empowering K-5 students as a Special Education Teacher at a French Immersion School near Liberty, MO-no French required. This contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering the chance to make a difference every school day while working a steady, full-time schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. The position will have a varied (mixed) caseload, allowing you to utilize your specialized skills to address a spectrum of learning styles and needs, all at a single supportive location in Kansas City.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (SPED) required
Experience supporting students across a mixed caseload, including mild to more involved needs
Strong instructional, collaboration, and communication skills
Adaptability to meet diverse learning needs within K-5 populations
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
Previous experience in school settings preferred, though motivated new professionals will be considered
Key Responsibilities: Plan, implement, and adapt lessons for students with varying exceptionalities
Develop and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and staff
Employ evidence-based strategies and accommodations in a positive, inclusive manner
Track student growth and adjust instruction in partnership with support teams
Create a welcoming classroom atmosphere while supporting social-emotional development
Support school initiatives, participate in team meetings, and collaborate with general education teachers
