Special Education Teacher - Orland Park, IL

The assignment covers a single school site, allowing you to focus your expertise and build strong relationships within your classroom.
You’ll serve as a self-contained instructional teacher for a primary, K-1 split class, shaping the learning experience for exceptional students and supporting their educational growth. The work schedule follows regular school hours, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, granting consistent structure and evenings free.
Qualifications & Preferred Background:
Current licensure as an LBS1-certified Special Education Teacher
Experience in a self-contained or resource instructional setting preferred
Strong commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment
Ability to differentiate instruction based on individualized education program (IEP) goals
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with educational teams and families
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to K-1 students with diverse learning needs
Develop and implement lesson plans according to IEPs, ensuring measurable progress
Manage classroom activities and support positive student behaviors
Collaborate with other staff, support professionals, and families to promote student success
Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings as required
