Job description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current special education teaching certification, meeting state requirements
Background or specialization in autism spectrum disorders preferred
Previous experience supporting students with autism or similar special needs in educational settings
Ability to adapt curriculum and implement effective individualized education plans (IEPs)
Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, teachers, and support staff
Passion for advocacy and positive behavior interventions
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction and classroom support to students on the autism spectrum
Develop and modify IEPs in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions tailored to individual student needs
Foster an accepting, structured, and positive learning environment
Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with policies
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and parent conferences as required
Incorporate sensory-friendly approaches and assistive communication techniques as needed
