Job description
Empower students by stepping into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school setting near Westland, MI. Three full-time positions are available for the upcoming academic year, spanning early learning elementary, middle school, and high school levels. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by addressing diverse learning needs and fostering student success.
Desired Qualifications:
Current Michigan teaching certification with a valid Special Education endorsement (please include certification details when applying)
Experience working with students at elementary, middle, or high school levels is highly valued
Strong knowledge of IEP processes and best practices in special education
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to diverse student needs and educational environments
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with varying abilities
Differentiate instruction and utilize a range of evidence-based strategies to support student growth
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote inclusive learning environments
Maintain accurate records, monitor student progress, and provide regular updates to families and school teams
Foster a positive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their goals
Positions are full time for the school year, beginning August 31, 2026, and concluding June 4, 2027. Caseloads are tailored to each setting: one teacher each for early learning elementary, middle school, and high school assignments.
