Job description
Southampton Union Free School District is seeking qualified internal candidates to serve as a Special Olympics Chaperone .
The Special Olympics Chaperone provides supervision and support to student-athletes participating in Special Olympics activities and events. The successful candidate will help ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment while assisting students throughout practices, competitions, and related activities.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support students during Special Olympics events and activities.
Assist with student safety, behavior, and participation.
Encourage positive sportsmanship and inclusion.
Work collaboratively with coaches and staff to support student success.
Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly students receiving special education services, preferred.
Ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff.
Dependable, patient, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Salary:
Per STA Contract
In-District Athletic Events
Up to 3 hours:$100.00 per event
More than 3 hours up to 6 hours:$200.00 per event
More than 6 hours:$250.00 per event
Out of District Athletic Events (field trips)
Less than 5 hours:$150.00 per event
More than 5hours:$250.00 per event
