Responsible for scheduling office visits, scheduling in-office/operating room procedures and providing pertinent information to patients. Responsible for completing pre-certifications for in-office, imaging, prescription, and procedures. Additional administrative duties associated with tracking the processing and receipt of biopsy specimens.
Schedules all office visits, in-office procedures, and operating room procedures; including pre-operation appointments.
Provides outside facility with authorization information.
Processes and documents insurance pre-certifications and coordination of benefits for all procedures/medications administration prior to scheduling.
Updates patient registrations when appropriate.
Obtains correct address information, telephone numbers and insurance information from the patient.
Informs patient of account balances that must be paid prior to procedure.
Directs uninsured patients to the business office for information on payment requirements.
2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.
