Job description

Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist

Join the Hutchinson Health Rehabilitation Services team as a per diem Speech Language Pathologist and enjoy the flexibility to work in inpatient, outpatient, or blended practice settings.

Our inpatient speech-language pathologists provide care within an 18-bed Med/Surg/ICU unit at a Level IV Trauma Center and Level 1 Heart Attack Center, working with patients who have swallowing, communication, cognitive, and neurological impairments. The inpatient commitment averages one weekend per month and includes one recognized holiday per year. Additional weekday shifts may be available based on patient volumes and staffing needs.

Speech-language pathologists interested in outpatient practice may provide services to pediatric and/or adult populations. The outpatient commitment includes 12 shifts per year with a minimum of four hours per shift.

This position is ideal for speech-language pathologists seeking scheduling flexibility, a variety of clinical experiences, and the opportunity to work with both pediatric and adult populations in a highly collaborative rehabilitation environment. Per diem employment can also be a great way to become familiar with Hutchinson Health and explore future opportunities within Rehabilitation Services.

Work Schedule:

1 weekend per month

Yearly holiday rotation

Ability to work additional weekday or weekend shifts as volume demands.

Required Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program. Three years' experience in the relevant specialty area.

Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Minnesota.

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certification and is able to accumulate the supervised experience required for certification.

Current CPR certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is desirable, but not required.
