Overview
nThe SLP-Iwill provide speech and language services to a varied population of students in a full day non-public setting or public-private partnership setting. The SLP-I will implement and document the services as outlined in the IEP of each student, addressing the needs of students, their families, and any impact the student’s speech and language disability has on his/her ability to derive educational benefit; maintain records to comply with specified standards; and participate in intra- and interdisciplinary training and meetings
nResponsibilities
nnnOffer functional communication, speech and language, and feeding/oral motor assessment to determine presence of a disability in these areas and (where detected) determine the current level of functioning, with consideration to the student and family needs as well as the impact of the deficit on the student’s ability to derive educational benefit.

nnDevelop and implement intervention programs focused on resolving any identified condition or diminishing its functional and/or educational impact. Deliver intervention services in settings and formats appropriate to the needs and placement of the student (e.g., pull out, classroom setting, co-teaching).

nnMaintain documentation of all contacts with parents/guardians, agency representatives, administration, ACT Office and colleagues regarding student progress and concerns as needed, adhering to Institute and departmental expectations, as well as guidelines established by MSDE and ASHA.

nnDevelop, modify and implement IEPs in cooperation with the ACT office and the LSS as prescribed at the Annual Team Meeting (ATM).
n
nnParticipate in intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary activities relative to student services (e.g., team meetings) and professional training (e.g., staff development activities).
n
nnAssist with supporting the school mission and goals in a positive and professional manner with a student centered school culture and climate as designed by the administration as specified in school and Institute policies and procedures.

n nQualifications
nnn*Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by the Institute.
n
nn*Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.
n
n nEDUCATION:
nnnMust have successfully completed Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, with related clinical requirements.
n
nnMust have Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
n
nnMust be have or be eligible for Maryland State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology.
n
n nEXPERIENCE:
nnMust have experience working with children who have communication disorders.
n nRELATED TRAINING:
nnPCM training (or related training) will be provided by department. For PCM standards, employee must achieve and maintain certification at the “Practitioner” level (or higher) according to the timeline established within departmental policy.
n nMinimum pay range
nUSD $33.65/Hr.
nMaximum pay range
nUSD $51.08/Hr.
