Job description

Speech and Language Pathologist

Whispering Pines Preschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with diverse children and families in a supportive school-based environment while enjoying the benefits of a school-year calendar and a six-week summer program.

NYS Licensure is required. Pediatric experience is preferred, and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary

The Speech and Language Pathologist reports directly to the Site Supervisor and Executive Director. The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality speech and language services while collaborating effectively with families, educators, and related service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct speech and language evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Provide Preschool and Early Intervention services.

Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and documentation.

Develop individualized intervention plans in collaboration with team members.

Maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all records.

Communicate clearly and professionally with families, staff, colleagues, and outside agencies.

Carry a caseload of approximately 16 to 25 children in a full-time capacity.

Deliver therapy services as outlined in each child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Participate actively as a collaborative member of the educational team.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Current New York State license and certification required.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.

Pediatric experience preferred.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Clinical Fellowship Opportunities

Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are welcome to apply. Supervision and support are available for candidates seeking to obtain their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
